Hi everyone, thanks so much for visiting my little corner of the internet. My name is Krista. I’m a burnt out nonprofit worker that lives in beautiful New England with my husband and our dog. As a recovering productivity junkie, I’m on a journey to discover new ways to relax and unwind, seeking to soothe my frazzled soul. I’ve come to realize that life is short and sweet and there is more to it than chasing the next promotion, having the tightest body, or buying the latest fancy car. It’s time for me to embrace the cliche and stop to smell the roses!
This blog is all about cozy living and finding moments of relaxation in everyday life. Here, you’ll find ideas to enjoy simple pleasures at home, tips for carving out peaceful moments in the midst of busy schedules, and restful travel suggestions - complete with plenty of spa recommendations.
In a world where the United States ranks high amongst the most stressed out populations, I know first hand how overwhelming life can be. It’s understandable, there seems to be a never ending list of things to do after we finish our 40 to 60 hour work weeks. Take the kids to practices, do laundry, clean the house, maintain relationships, stay healthy, make dinner, feed the pets the list goes on. My goal is to inspire even just one of you to take a restful trip, carve out time for yourself, and embrace the simple joys - like a warm blanket, a cup of tea, and a good book.
As an anxious girly who’s faced my fair share of mental health challenges, my motivation for this blog came from a breaking point. After buying a fixer upper (hello, first time homeowners!), accepting a stressful promotion, and grappling with past traumas, I found myself at a crossroads. Slowly but surely, I’ve started to find ways of bringing my life into balance through things big and small - a cozy puzzle to calm my mind, a secluded Airbnb in the woods, or a luxurious spa that allowed me to bask in a moment of total relaxation. I’ve still got a ways to go but I’m trying and enjoying the journey.
If any of this resonates with you, I hope this blog offers a little respite. We all work so hard; I hope you find a moment to fill your own cup, you deserve it.
